[caption id="attachment_340" align="alignright" width="300"] Nik Wallenda[/caption]
Is Nik Wallenda a Daredevil or Just Plain Stupid?
I do not mean he is intellectually stupid and perhaps he is quite the opposite. Nik Wallenda is the high-wire walker who has broken several records crossing huge distances, gaps at fantastic heights.
Successfully I might Add.
Walllenda lays claim that he is christian and follows in the footsteps of his family who also did high-wire acts and other daredevil feats akin to Evil Kenevil. Just watching him cross the Grand Canyon had me clutching my armchair.
But all the while Nik praises God all the way across saying thank-you Jesus. Unfortunately, on the other end of the canyon where Wallenda was to complete his "walk" stood his family members and none other than Joel Olsteen, a person I regard as a false preacher and a charlatan.
Assuming one believes in God in the first instance, and has faith in our Lord and Savior, let us assume, like Wallenda you have some extra spending cash and you decide to go play a little poker game, all the while praying to God to let you win or to get this one. First off, God has nothing to do with gambling -you walk into that Casino, and you lose or win based on probability ONLY and that is it.
The Insanity of it All.
When someone does this and starts claiming God help them hit it or hit the big one or make it this is in fact testing God. There are plenty of scripture references to back this up.
Matthew 4:7 for instance.
There is no such thing as luck. Scripture indicates, “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.” (Proverbs 16:33).
In other words, God controls every cast of dice, every hand of cards, every turn of a wheel, every play at a lottery. Every time you gamble with money you are saying, for practical purposes, “God I am going to test You. I am going to put this money down, testing You, to see if You will let me win a jackpot.”
Gamble With Money -Not Your Life.
Sorry Chuckles, it doesn`t work that way. When you step into a Casino, any Casino your at the mercy of chance, odds, and other players who can outplay you skillfully at poker and take that pretty stack you thought you could double -even if you`ve practiced for years.
Telling the Lord or even asking for his help in these instances is in fact tempting God. Initially, STFU and play, it`s your money, you made the choice and if you lose it all it was your fault not God`s, nor was he behind any winnings.
Though I might add that I`d thank God if you did in fact hit a jackpot and got out of the Casino and never returned.
As you can see from the above image of Wallenda he seems to get a charge out of defying the odds and he is a gambler, but the worst kind -- he plays with his life. Asking God to help you every step or inch...um yeah - isn`t that testing the Lord?
Reference Scriptures:
Even if God somehow agreed to keep Wallenda or any other daredevil safe - which he would not according to Jesus temptation in the desert:
Luke 4:9-12King James Version (KJV)
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
In other words Satan (he) mentioned above is telling a half-truth, and quoting scripture wrong, plus indicating that as your going down if you slam into some rocks the angels will let you continue to fall...holy crud!
Leave Daredevil in the Comics:
This Wallenda character is no Daredevil - and no matter what the world and others say or broadcast it`s wrong to play with your life like this regardless of monetary compensation and continue to do so...it is utterly insane, the world won`t care much after your gone ten years down the line.
Like the above pic, Wallenda gets some sorta weird satisfaction out of his extreme stunts - like the eyes of a goat when they crack horns ---after a while - the goats get a charge off the kinetic energy- converting it into their horns -- you can see it in their googly eyes, like slits of a snake or cat or the nictitating membrane of shark when it bites down on it`s prey.
Sharks don`t have arms and legs they eat to live and kill to do so. It`s not murder, they just have to kill to eat and that`s just the way it is on This Earth. If your in their territory, be sure you might be the next meal.
I`ve been at farms where this sort of thing goes on, even though goats are cute and all -- it`s not faith dude - it`s gambling.
And like probability, no matter how skilled you are - you can still lose.
One wrong move for Wallenda - and it`s all over. Is Wallenda insane to do it again with newer and grander height defying objectives?
Yes.
He should quit while he`s ahead, and count his lucky stars he`s at least surpassed those of his forefathers, repent and come down off his high-horse - all it takes is one wrong move no matter how much you`ve trained and he can say bye-bye.
