- Arrogant Let-It-Slide Amazon Seller Disses Me
LET ME POINT OUT THAT I AM NOT A PERSON WHO GOES AROUND RIPPING ONLINE SELLERS OFF TO GET FREE PRODUCTS - THIS IS A LEGITIMATE EVENT THAT HAPPENED TO ME AND I WANT TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE SO THAT OTHER BUYERS CAN AVOID GETTING RIPPED OFF BY LET-IT-SLIDE RIP-OFF ARTISTS PREVALENT ON AMAZON AND EBAY:
On October 3rd 2014 I was low on funds but had enough to buy 2 comic books online. After doing some searching and calculating to my bank - I purchased a $2.99 comic which the seller @ 1st Print Comics & Collectibles indicated was "new" and the extra cost of shipping for an additional $3.99, a total of $6.98.
The seller took too long to get the order "out-the-door" and I waited checking the tacking number which was not shown on usps tracking. I complained to the seller that the tracking number was his responsibility and that he should have it out the door at least within 2 days.
It took until 4 am before it finally popped up.
I was somewhat irritated with this seller because he denied that he had no control over the tracking number which is false because I wrote amazon concerning it and they promptly informed me that the seller does have control over the tracking number and that it is not generated by Amazon. (he lied).
I ended up promising the seller (which I suspect is a male) a 5/5 feedback score for finally getting things in order.
I waited.
Upon receiving the package I found it to have a bent staple which was bent inward toward the spine on top and a crack near the other spine.
Here are actual photos of the comic book which was supposed to be "NEW" but was in essence a 5.0 to 5.5:
Everything else about the comic book was Okay, but the comic book was not as described as "NEW". I made footage of the comic book (as I always do) and was somewhat disappointed, but I was willing to let-it-slide since it was such a negligible price for a first issue and at that a key issue... UNTIL I checked the seller`s response to my feedback.
Here is MY feedback:
5 out of 5:
"Comic book arrived and was protected professionally.
Not "New" comic book has a inward
bend on staple and a crack near the other staple.
5.5 at best. Minor dispute with seller erupted with
respect to uploading the tracking number;slow
shipping date: however the issue was resolved
around 4:18am- Seller exhibited a slow "out-the-
door policy". Will not buy from again. Nice key
issue though." The Mark Cater (edit this name), October 9,
2014
Here is the arrogant and I-got-away-with-ripping-you-off reply the seller responded to me with:
(Seller Response: I want to thank you for giving me a 5/5 and I especially want to thank you for never buying from me ever again. 12 e-mails about the tracking number which I have no control over. $3.00 comic book from 1975. Total. Panic. Mouse. Date: October 11, 2014)
First off there were not 12 e-mails as the seller claims in his crybaby fashion, these were all letters explaining to him what the problem was - his responses "what tracking number or some lame excuse to get him off the hook should I contact Amazon, but it wasn`t this that got him caught; he actually did send me a used copy and claimed it was new so it was not as described.
He also stated that he had "no control over the tracking number - this is a lie because he does and has to print it as a shipping label.
As I said, I compiled an unboxing video and a showcase video on my 2 youtube channels: My Showcase Channel:
And my Main Youtuebe channel:
The seller response pissed me off so I filed a complaint with Amazon A to Z as follows:
Hello, We have received your A-to-z Guarantee claim for this order:
-- Order Number: 107-3124248-8933013
-- Claim Reason:
You received an item that did not match its description
Your Comments:
"I will not follow up on this rather is is a complaint: Seller made nasty and false reply concerning service with respect to tracking number - this is not how to treat customers and needs reeducating concerning proper business ethics: (Seller Response: I want to thank you for giving me a 5/5 and I especially want to thank you for never buying from me ever again. 12 e-mails about the tracking number which I have no control over. $3.00 comic book from 1975. Total. Panic. Mouse. Date: October 11, 2014) SELLER HAS SLOW OUT-THE DOOR-POLICY AND TREATS CUSTOMERS WITH DISRESPECT EVEN AFTER GIVEN A HIGH FEEDBACK SCORE. RELIES WERE UNPROFESSIONAL AND PRODUCT WAS NOT NEW AND HAS A BENT STAPLE AND A HAIRLINE CRACK ON THE OTHER STAPLE SELLER WAS RUDE. ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED AS "NEW". VIDEO EVIDENCE AT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lifYO3fhQ_oNO REFUND OR RETURN WILL BE ISSUED BECAUSE I CAN BUY FROM HONEST SELLERS RATHER THAN THIS IDIOT -BUT SELLER SHOULD BE BOOTED FROM AMAZON FOR BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. SELLER ONLY ISSUE BOOK AFTER TRACKING NUMBER WAS ISSUED."
Since I filed a claim with amazon, I informed the seller as well, and that his business ethics were about as intelligible as a four year old. I advised him that the way in which he treats customers like myself is bad business practice and that he should get educated on how to treat people.
He immediately deleted his seller response assuming that by removing it, Amazon would not detect it or his thievery and dissing me. However Amazon made a decision in my favor a reimbursed me the full amount for my trouble.
Obviously the reimbursement was due to the seller misrepresenting the book, (claiming it as new and sending me a used copy). I had video evidence to back it up and while the amount is meaningless to me I would expect an apology for such rudeness and deceptive service, even though to not send the comic book (still with me) back to the seller.
I thanked amazon for their honesty and wrote a letter back to them as follows:
K&C Comics Studio 11:28 AM (4 hours ago)/(as of this post) if I were selling online myself I would be honest about it and I know how comic books are graded as a collector for 30+ years - if I were selling I would not diss customers; claiming that the book was new when in fact is isn`t. It hurts everyone involved and I am sure that how it reflects upon amazon is not good as well. May I suggest that the description of comic book be mandatory since new, collectible, used, does not fair with how books and comic books are graded it is a little" a comic book is actually in without first asking the seller what the actual condition is when buying it outright as opposed to CGC Graded comic books. (In an auction); (i.e CGC comic prices do not match current comic book price guide prices). Also I would like to suggest that stock photos are inapplicable to determining the condition of comic books; actual photos need to be used from sellers - I am sure that such enhancement from Amazon would be a major game changer for everyone who buys and sells on amazon to give a better buying and selling experience for everyone and would heighten the zero-tolerance for riff-raff who are not educated in selling to customers, and when such customers make claims and are legitimate, sellers should agree with them and be polite as opposed to those nasty sellers with arrogant attitudes who think they can get away with ripping other off by slipping through the cracks on Amazon`s selling platform as well as eBay. Again, Thank You, Mark Cater
In my experience, over the years as an avid and honest comic book buyer, collector (regaining my lost collection back of over 571 comic books, power records art and books) and knowledge of good business practices/ethics you treat customers with the utmost respect and agree with them on every issue even if you don`t like them.
Unfortunately, there are far too many Let-it-slide sellers out there who DO NOT know the first hand thing about selling to customers or how to deal with them on a day-to-day basis. I say "let-it-slide" because this exactly how the attitude is with today`s youth and many who are into the rap or gang mentality and I see it all the time especially with work - they are people who Let-Things-Slide" and it is complete and utter bullshit. This has nothing to do with culture or race - it has to do with people who lower the standard of living for the rest of us, who think it is OK to give bad service, enable crime, and sell illegal things.
These are the same fuckups who smoke pot, fornicate and flip-off morality and decency.
If people like this regardless of race, creed or sexual preference are permitted to make and produce products as well as life with bad service and faulty products, they affect those around them as well as lower the standards set-up by platforms like amazon and eBay, that eventually reflect on their reputation resulting in the downfall of the whole operation.
It only takes one fool to start the sub-standard process and the house of cards built on honesty is infiltrated by sub-standard behaviors which then have be eliminated cause the whole system to fall.
Let-it-slide profiteers need to be ousted - 86ed.
As well as in the workplace (this is not mean mistakes) it means deliberate Sabotage of products that go unnoticed, unless carefully inspected by those in charge of operations.
These are the same fucks who steal money at the restaurant, manipulate fellow crew members and steal others tips, etc, etc. Or they Sabotage products so that when they get in the hands of a customer - it breaks or something goes immediately wrong.
The list goes on and on just like the issue I was dealt that the seller claimed was "NEW" when in fact he lied and sent me a used copy thinking I wasn`t intelligent enough to spot a 5.5 copy from a near-mint copy.
Let`s stop Let-it-slide sellers on Amazon and eBay - make video evidence of your issue - upload it to youtube - and don`t let these fucks get away with ripping you off - especially if you know you`ve been targeted by such an asshole and you have legitimate evidence - get them fired too - and report it immediately, particularly with collectible issues and key issue comic books.
It affects everyone, not just you, if you let-it-slide.
In this particular case avoid 1st Print Comics & Collectibles on Amazon.
