PLANNING:
The days of showcasing talent are history unless you get into another America or Britain`s got talent show -(ended). Getting on TV is pricey. Today the aspiring celebrities fast-track it to fame by manifesting positive controversy, thereby attract the attention of media outlets. A growing number of attention-grabbers exist for the average unknown to get his or her face plastered on the rebound-round of news companies. All it takes is a dash of tenacity, creative effort and courage (or idiocy).
Plan carefully before implementation, even if it is a parody, you want to be as real as possible and pass it off as being real even if it was acted out. Those involved should not reveal this. Be sure to plan a stunt that is 100% safe and legal. No matter how cool your plan to do the trick may appear, you can't reap the rewards of celebrity unless you are alive and kicking.
ANGLES:
Arrange for multiple videographers to plan out your program. You want to be sure that your stunt is captured on video, so you need to plant several people who can vouch when the Jack McGees come a knockin. (a few with camera phones for authenticity) nearby.
These can be paid individuals who will not crack under pressure. If it is to promote your business, you will need an ad unlike any other that will catch the attention of citizens everywhere without being disgusting or completely offensive (as in images of aborted fetuses/animal cruelty etc).
Upload that video to as many video websites as is possible. You want to get max exposure for your stunt, so utilize all of the free publicity that you can get.
Leaders of media outlets routinely troll sites such as YouTube and Facebook (Myspace has decreased in Popularity) for video clip-(s) to augment their human interest segments. natural looking acts should not have shifts in camera views to create the illusion of popularity/realism.
TROLLING:
Post inflammatory views. Say something that is totally outrageous. Speaking against the current popular politician or celeb is a prime example. Bucking societal norms is an almost sure thing. However, be sure to stay tasteful. Racist and sexist remarks, for example, can and will ultimately backfire.
A good knock-out drag`em could do the trick or any idea that might be just around the corner. Avoid violent content of at all possible and do not use photo-shopping to enhance the video, because a take can be redone to perfect the illusion you have in mind.
VIDEO:
Producing a video might do the trick if your running into walls and this may catapult you into the music industry with a contract like PSY GangGam Style and M.I.A Sunshowers/Paper Planes or get you massive negative reviews when Rebecca Black produced Friday 2,323,976 dislikes and rude comments as of this post.
PARTY CRASHING?:
Crash a celebrity bash, red carpet or major sporting event. The media turns out to these events in force, so you are sure to get your face on the air. Crashing will draw out security, however, so be prepared to be bounced and/or banned from the event.

eBAY:
Post something incredibly outrageous on eBay, for example an empty bottle of air. Find something equally creative that you think will be a sure-fire means to draw the of attention media and not result in 15-minutes of fame. remember Entrepreneurialism is endeavor toward riches; use what works.
Try not to go the route of desperation, and take pics with drunken celebrities or other lunacy as so many other you-tubers do just to get a measly 15 minutes of fame, you want this to skyrocket you toward fame or fortune. Plan, prepare and re-shoot. Be secret about the behind the seances work and do not recant your story or crack under pressure.
