Interestingly enough, be very cautious of the yellow box areas when buying books on mycomicshop dot com -consignors ridiculously overprice their precious books and keys. Assuming your and avid comic book collector and/or your working on full runs say for instance Incredible Hulk, Strange Tales,Flash, or Charlton horror books etc. You will soon discover that consignors are rather unreasonable and particularly stupid.

These dumb-asses overprice their books 3,4 and even 9x comic book price guide suggestions. Avoid them if at all possible, especially CGC items because they are outrageous; just like Judge Judy says!

There should be a CGC comic book price guide by overstreet, but such sellers go unregulated ever since CGC stepped onto the sceane to ruin the industry. Comic books are for reading, and if you know how to take care of your books you don`t need CGCing in the majority of cases.

Also any real comic collector who is not termed a geek, with proper sense will tell you how you should handle and grade your books. It`s fairly simple, and if you take care of your books even when reading them there is no need for CGC to encapsulate the book or books.

If anything, CGCing books pre-require you have 2 copies -one for encapsulation for value and the other for reading. Additionally old advertisements within the book itself as well as the age make a book even more classic. Even a publisher who knows that golden age reprints which retain all the ads in a reprint are doing themselves a big favor, because if they retain all the original ads in a reprint of a golden age book it`s just like having the original and that goes a long way for ROI and the collector-what a deal!

Grading is an oblique process, if CGC says a book is 7.0 but looks 7.5, then something is amiss and grading isn`t 100% accurate, because there is no perfects standard that determines what the grade actually is between any two collectors. This is another reason why I suspect CGC and other encapsulation people are ignorant of comics, plus there is no way to take the book out, read it and put it back.

I think it is one big sham to trick people into jumping the price merely on the basis of grading.

Avoid high priced consignors on mycomicshop and double check the real price with respect to any PGX/CGC book etc, if it is overpriced buy a lower grade -hey! Examine any associated images and look at all the details. I have a few low grade key books, the`re not the best but guess what I have the issue and basically that`s what counts. If you do buy CGC etc, refer to a current price guide -otherwise your looking at a rip off artist.
